Star Clinic Program

What is the Star Clinic Program?

Studies have shown that dental problems and gum disease are rife among school-age children in Saudi Arabia. This worrying trend can be attributed to a number of factors, including poor diet, incorrect oral-hygiene procedures and an absence of regular monitoring by a trained dentist.

The Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare (JHAH) Star Clinic – a pediatric wellbeing program – aims to tackle these problems, and educate families on the best practices for maintaining optimal dental health and oral hygiene.

Further information

Upon enrolment, you will be invited to bring your child (aged two and under) to our sessions, held at JHAH Dhahran and JHAH Al-Hasa.

We will try to see all children aged under two on the same day, or within a week of requesting if the response rate is high.

You will be welcomed by our friendly pediatric dental team, who will review your child’s medical history, check their teeth and mouth, and possibly apply fluoride (which can help to strengthen the enamel on their teeth). We will also talk to you about oral hygiene and brushing practices, as well as discussing your child’s diet and how it can affect their teeth.

The establishment of sound oral hygiene at a young age reduces the risk of dental problems in later life, which, in turn, can boost self-confidence. We look forward to providing you and your child with friendly, professional guidance to make that happen.

Eligibility

The program is available to children aged two and under and who are receiving their healthcare at JHAH.
