Obesity is a major health problem in our society, leading to chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, heart disease and stroke. Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare's (JHAH) Weight Management Program uses a group approach to help you manage excess weight. Over the course of six months and 10 sessions, we will help you and your colleagues apply leading strategies to help control your weight and reduce the associated medical risks.
Our program offers a series of interactive presentations and workshops, where we focus on two main goals:
During the first session, you will undergo baseline assessments, including BMI and body composition, and there will be follow-up assessments throughout the program. A final assessment for each group member takes place at the end of the program. As well as using leading strategies to inform the program, we will regularly discuss with the group how the program is working, and if it is meeting your particular needs.
The program is available to Saudi Aramco employees who are 18 years old and above, and have a body mass index (BMI) of 25 or higher.
You might also be interested in taking a tour of Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare’s (JHAH) Labor and Delivery Unit to help you acclimatize to the surroundings and meet the midwives. This is usually a good opportunity to ask questions about what to expect during your stay. The tour, conducted both in Arabic and English, takes place at the Mother and Baby Unit 3H on the first and third Tuesday of each month and takes around one hour.
