If your Primary Care physician feels that your child would benefit from more specialized medical help from our pediatric experts at Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare (JHAH), they may be invited to attend one of our pediatric specialty clinics. Our teams know the importance of ensuring that your child feels comfortable if treatment is needed, and we work hard to provide a caring environment to support your whole family.
Your Pediatric Primary Care physician will be your first port-of-call, as our pediatric specialty clinics are not a self-referral service. Your doctor will make a referral, if appropriate, after an initial consultation. You can then book an appointment with our specialists.
When you arrive at the clinic, we will check your child in. Within five minutes a nurse will carry out an initial clinical screening. The wait time to see a doctor will usually be around 15-20 minutes, and your appointment will last around 20-30 minutes.
If further procedures and/or laboratory tests are needed, these and any other follow-up appointments can be arranged by our care team, who are there to help from your first consultation through to offering ongoing support after your child’s treatment.
You will be invited to a clinic, usually about two to three weeks before your treatment, to ensure your child is well enough for the anesthetic and operation. This may involve blood tests, X-rays and a urine sample. You may also see a specialist to discuss your child’s care.
The JHAH staff were friendly and helpful during my son’s immunization, which has already improved his quality of life. Thank you.
