Laboratory and screening tests

During your visit, your doctor or nurse may request tests to help find out more about your condition. This could be anything from a simple blood test or urine sample to a full body scan, and will either be carried out straightaway or scheduled for a later date. Our excellent medical staff will talk you through the procedure, make sure you are comfortable during the test, and then give you time to recover afterwards should you need it.

Immunizations

Arranging appropriate vaccinations provides the best possible way for adults and children in your family to avoid illness. Our two dedicated Immunization Rooms (one for adults, located in the Primary Care Clinic, and one for children in the Women and Children Clinic), provide vaccinations for everything from flu to tetanus. Both rooms feature private immunization cubicles and a comfortable waiting area.

Children’s care

Treating a sick child requires a special set of skills, but you can rest assured that our dedicated team of pediatricians will provide the best possible care. Whether your child is suffering from an ailment, or requires a vaccination, they will be treated with compassion and sensitivity. We encourage you to bring your children in for regular Well Child visits, where our doctors will monitor their health and growth. And our Health Center features play areas that will keep little ones occupied while they wait for treatment.

Your child's dental wellbeing

Maintaining optimal dental health and establishing sound oral hygiene at a young age reduces the risk of dental problems in later life, which, in turn, can boost self-confidence. We look forward to providing you and your child with friendly, professional guidance to make that happen.

We will review your child’s medical history, check their teeth and mouth. We will also talk to you about oral hygiene and brushing practices, as well as discussing your child’s diet and how it can affect their teeth.

Protective fluoride varnish

At your child’s 18 and 24 months JHAH clinic visits, our pediatric clinicians, trained by our dentists, will add a pain-free protective fluoride varnish on your child’s teeth. The varnish protects your child’s teeth and reduces the risk of cavities by up to 50 percent. If we identify caries in your child’s teeth, we will advise you to see a dentist for treatment and further dental health guidance.

Amenities and services

We have taken great care to provide amenities and services to make your visit to Primary Care as comfortable and efficient as possible.

Car parking

If you are traveling by car, you will find convenient, shaded parking around the Primary Care Clinic.

Food and drink

If you are feeling thirsty or hungry while you wait to be seen – and you have not been asked to fast before your treatment – hot and cold refreshments are available at our coffee shop, located in the outpatient lobby. You will also find vending machines in the Health Center, selling drinks and snacks.

Play area

Children can become restless if they are asked to sit in a waiting room for any length of time, which is why we have created a fun play area close to the pediatric department of the Health Center. There is also a central garden area, for family members who may want some fresh air.
